Reading the feed intake and rumination curves
Sur cette page
For each animal, the app plots the time spent eating and ruminating over time, and compares it with that of its group. This tells you whether a drop comes from the animal itself or from herd management.
This article contains the following sections:
- Opening an animal's record
- Values for the last 24 hours
- The animal's curves
- Comparing animals with each other
Opening an animal's record:
To open an animal's record:
- Open the list of animals.
- Select the animal.
- Open its animal record.
Values for the last 24 hours:
The values displayed in the record cover the last 24 hours, in the form of an orange and green bar.
7-day values are no longer calculated
Since version 25.11, the app displays a dash in their place. To observe a trend, use the curve and its zoom.
The animal's curves:
The View curve button displays two superimposed plots: that of the animal and that of its group, over the last 24 hours. The Ing and Rum buttons let you switch between feed intake and rumination.
What to aim for
A curve that is stable over time and close to that of the group. An animal that deviates from its group for a long period probably has a problem; if the whole group drops at the same time, look at the ration instead.
In the top banner, you can:
- go back up to 6 months;
- change the zoom, from 24 hours to 2 months.
Clicking a point on the curve moves the cursor and updates the indicators at the bottom. The scales are set in the graph settings.
Comparing animals with each other:
The View group profile button places each animal in the group on the same graph, with a point in a different colour for the herd average. An animal clearly set apart from the others probably has a problem. The bubbles in the four zones of the graph provide explanations.
To confirm a deviation:
- Select the animal in the Animal box.
- Go back over the previous days.
