How the update spreads between your collars
Sur cette page
There is no need to update each collar one by one: an up-to-date collar passes the new version on to all those that come close to it, for 10 days. The herd's usual movements are enough.

The principle:
A collar can receive the update in two ways:
- manually, from an Android phone;
- automatically, by coming into contact with a collar that is already up to date.
In both cases, it in turn becomes a transmitter for 10 days. Step by step, the whole herd is updated.
Our recommendation
Manually update at least one collar per batch of animals, on the same day. This is the fastest method.
Distances:
| Mode | Distance |
|---|---|
| Manual update | Between 1 and 5 metres from the collar |
| Spreading between collars | About 10 metres |
Do the animals need to be gathered together?
No. Everyday movements (grazing, drinking, milking) are enough to spread the update.
Several sites:
Each site works independently. Manually update at least one collar per site: the update then spreads site by site.
Monitoring progress:
While the update is spreading, a progress bar is displayed in the app. When it disappears, all the collars are up to date.
To check collar by collar, open the Equipment tab and look at the version displayed for each one.
