Getting the Vigivel app and setting up alerts

Updated

The Vigivel app opens directly in the browser of your phone or computer: there is no app to install. Your login details are sent to you by email. Once logged in, you choose who is notified, how and at what times.

This article contains the following sections:

  • Accessing the app
  • The app language
  • The temperature unit
  • Setting up your alerts
  • Alert options
  • Entering numbers correctly
  • Testing reception

Accessing the app:

Go to app.vigivel.fr. Your account is created automatically on delivery, and your sensors are already linked to it.

Add a shortcut to your home screen
From your phone's browser, use the Add to Home Screen option. Vigivel then opens like any other app, with a single tap.

The app language:

The app is available in seven languages: French, English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch. It is automatically displayed in the language of your phone or computer, and in English if your language is not available.

To change the language, change your device's language in its settings: the app follows.

The temperature unit:

The unit in which the temperature is displayed is set in the app. This setting is useful if you use Vigivel in a country where a different unit is customary.

Setting up your alerts:

To set up your alerts:

  1. Open the Settings tab.
  2. Enter your phone number.
  3. Tick SMS, Voice, or both.

Alert options:

Option Details
Who is notified Up to 3 different phone numbers. The third works exactly like the other two.
How By SMS, by call, or both.
At what times You define the time slots during which you agree to be disturbed. To be notified day and night, set the start to 00:00 and the end to 23:59.
Suspending a number A number can be temporarily deactivated without being deleted. Useful for managing on-call rotas between partners or employees.
Testing A button triggers a test SMS and a test call.

Entering numbers correctly:

Use the international format where possible, for example +33 6 12 34 56 78. Entry works with or without spaces, and with or without +33.

Do not remove the leading 0
A number entered without its leading zero may never receive an alert. This is a common input error that is difficult to spot.

Also check the time zone of your account: it determines the start and end times of your time slots. An incorrect time zone shifts all your alerts.

Testing reception:

Use the test button to trigger an SMS and a call.

Everyone runs their own test
The holder of each number must run the test from their own phone: a test carried out on their behalf proves nothing about actual reception. Repeat it every time a number changes, as this is the leading cause of alerts not being received.
